The Museum of Coastal Carolina’s annual Family Day is April 4 from 10 AM to 2 PM, rain or shine. There will be kettle corn, pizza, soda, and Sunset Slush, as well as games and low-priced crafts and activities for kids. Admission to the museum is free for museum members and Brunswick County residents with valid IDs. Museum admission for non-residents is only $2 per person (includes NC sales tax) between 10:00 and 2:00. Family Day activities take place inside the museum and in the museum’s parking lot (weather permitting). If it rains, activities are moved inside the museum.
This year, crafts for kids include making sea globes, shark tooth necklaces, and metal “Rings of Art” necklaces. Activities include making a pirate hat and walking the plank, temporary tattoos, a treasure toss, and a fishing hole for toddlers. The folks from Home Depot will be back this year with wood-making crafts and activities for kids. In addition, the Town of Ocean Isle Beach will have representatives from the police and fire departments at the museum to talk to kids. Meet rescued birds from the Sea Biscuit Wildlife Shelter. Learn about sea turtles by talking to members of the Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization. Talk to representatives from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services, who will have some animals available for adoption. Family Day also features Matthew Bookout and his Snakes Alive!
