Flip Flop Elegance

August 10, 2008 by garypope

For some true “Parrothead”/Key West atmosphere with great food and a fun, low key bar check out Sharky’s Waterfront Restaurant (on the causeway next to the ABC store). Owners Ray and Sarah Harris reopened this Spring with a new look, new menu and some new staff.

At Sharky’s you can enjoy great food overlooking a fabulous view of the waterway. You can tie up your boat at Sharky’s dock. Thoroughly casual, Sharky’s is fun for the whole family.
The new menu at Sharky’s offers a wide selection from Lite Bites (Panko Crusted Shrimp, Calypso Ribs, Oyster & Corn Chowder, etc.), hand tossed pizza, a nice selection of hot and cold subs, soups and salads as well as daily specials such as Grouper, Mahi Mahi and more.

The bar serves up Oyster shooters in addition to the regular line up of frozen tropical drinks and all your other favorite beverages! Things are lively but the atmosphere is laid back – never loud and boisterous. “Flip flop elegance” is how Ray likes to describe it.

Sharky’s goal is to provide a family-oriented restaurant for people who enjoy good food and a relaxed atmosphere. The food at Sharky’s is well-priced and can be enjoyed on the enlarged deck (which is handicapped accessible) overlooking the waterway where you can watch the passing boats as you dine. There is plenty of parking or you can tie up your boat along the 150 feet of Sharky’s dock — take a break from your boating and enjoy a good meal.

Some customers fly into the airport, making Sharky’s accessible by land, sea and air. We’ve always described The Winds as “Upscale, casual” and Sharky’s is just the kind of place guests of The Winds will love!
