We Will Miss You Mittens
February 1, 2013 by Kim
We are very sorry to have to tell everyone this terrible news, but our beloved cat Mittens has passed away. Mittens was hit by a car on Saturday.
Mittens, as many of you know, was as much a part of The Winds as anyone and she will be dearly missed. Mittens has been keeping us company for over 10 years, never letting a sunny afternoon go by without having her presence be known.
Throughout the years Mittens could be found outside the Garden Room door in the morning waiting for the kitchen staff or a guest to give her a few bits of bacon, or stretched out on a balcony lying in the sun. Mittens served as an unofficial mascot for The Winds and she was always well looked after by numerous members of our staff and our guests.
We will all miss Mittens greatly and we know so many of our guests who look forward to seeing her on their trips to the beach will miss her as well. Mittens will always have a special spot in our hearts and a special place in the sun at The Winds.

I am so sorry to hear that Mittens has passed away. She was, indeed, a good ambassador for the Winds. I remember she visited me more than once along the paths or on a balcony at the Winds.

Everyone in my family will miss Mittens. Over the years we watched her mature into a grand lady with a ton of personality. Thank you to everyone at The Winds for watching over her and giving her a long life by the sea.

So sorry to hear about Mittens, she would come up to our floor and sit by us when we were there on vacation. She was such a gentle and loving kitty. Her presence will be missed!
